Public sector EBA update #11: Statewide public sector members meeting – registrations open

Registrations are now open for the next 2024 EBA statewide public sector members meeting to be held on Tuesday 30 April 2024.

All members employed in the general and aged care public sector, and stand-alone community health centres, are invited to this meeting.

ANMF elected officials will provide a progress report on the 2024-28 enterprise bargaining negotiations. Members will hear the outcome of their protected industrial action ballot (opens 9am (AEST) Wednesday 17 April and closes 5pm (AEST) Monday 29 April) and will determine the next steps in their EBA campaign to improve wages, allowances, entitlements and conditions.

Date: Tuesday 30 April
Time: 2pm – 3.30pm (check in available from 1.30pm; please arrive to allow enough time to check in to the meeting and to collect a campaign t-shirt in the event you don’t already have one)
Location: Moonee Valley Racecourse
Pedestrian access via Gate 2, Tote Park Turnstiles, corner Alexandra and Feehan Avenues, near the Winx statue.

Register today.

To allow for full and frank discussion, remote access will not be available.

Wear your 2024 red campaign t-shirt proudly.

To gain entry to the meeting you will need to check in with the barcode included in your registration confirmation email. You will also find this barcode on your ANMF member portal page. Alternatively, you can show your ANMF membership card via the ANMF Diary App.

We encourage you to get involved in your campaign to improve your wages and conditions. Talk to your Job Reps and colleagues and make sure your ward or unit is represented at this meeting.

Bring your placards and signs!

Transport – book a place on the bus

ANMF is organising buses to and from the meeting from regional and metropolitan healthcare services. View the bus timetable [PDF]. Book your place on the bus when you register online.

We also recommend that Job Reps pin this bus list [PDF] on noticeboards so members can put their names down in addition to their online registration. This will help you and your colleagues know who is coming and you can organise to catch the bus together.

We recommend you bring a drink bottle and some snacks for the journey.

Public transport

There are train, bus and tram options.

Train
Moonee Ponds railway station (Craigieburn Line) is located less than 1km from Moonee Valley Racecourse.

Bus
A number of bus services operate in the area, with regular stops on Wilson Street and Dean Street. The racecourse is located 300 metres from the Moonee Ponds Junction bus interchange.

Tram
Moonee Ponds Junction is 450 metres to the west of the racecourse. This tram stop services Route 59 and 82. Route 58 stops on the corner of Melville Road and Victoria Street (the main entrance is a 200 metre walk)

Car parking

On-site car parking is available on the centre of the racecourse, with access via Gate 7 at Wilson Street or Pattison Street/Dean Street.

Leave entitlements

This is not a paid meeting. If you are working on the day you will need to request a change of shift to be able to attend, or reach an understanding with your manager about leaving early or arriving late for your shift, recognising that this could result in you losing pay for that absent period.
