Job Rep Seminars return in 2025

Job Rep Seminars return in 2025

After the scheduling disruption of the intensive public sector enterprise bargaining negotiations in the first half of this year, Job Rep Seminars are back on in the first half of 2025.

Job Reps and HSRs are encouraged to come along to hear the latest ANMF news from your elected officials – Branch Secretary Lisa Fitzpatrick, and/or Assistant Secretaries Paul Gilbert or Madeleine Harradence – at these two-hour seminars.

These informative, informal sessions will include updates on ANMF plans for the year ahead and beyond, progress on EBA negotiations (many of the larger private acute services will begin bargaining in 2025), information about what’s happening in your area, and other current Branch work. You will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Visit the delegates portal and register now.

2024 training still available

There are still places left for Job Reps to do some training before the end of 2024. If you’re new to the Job Rep role, these sessions are a great way to learn more about the union and network with other reps. If you haven’t yet enrolled, there’s still a few sessions left this year and more will be scheduled next year.

Job Rep Foundations

Foundations aims to provide Job Reps with the essential tools and knowledge to perform their role. New Job Reps are encouraged to do their initial Foundations training as soon as possible after being elected.

This program is complemented by the Job Rep Foundations online module. This module will take approximately two hours to complete and can be accessed via our Education Portal.

Experienced Job Reps are encouraged to keep their training up as well – particularly if you haven’t participated for three or more years – with courses on Keeping it organised, Reading your agreement and Bullying, harassment and discrimination.

Keeping it organised

This two-day program focuses on developing skills and strategies in progressing and resolving collective issues at your workplace.

The metro program is delivered across two standalone days. Register for a Program 1 and Program 2 of your choosing. We strongly encourage Job Reps to register for both days to get the most out of this program.

Regional Keeping it organised programs run across two consecutive days.

Reading your agreement

This three-hour session is designed to give Job Reps a broad understanding of the structure, content and legal status of EBAs, as well as some basic principles for reading and applying EBA provisions.

Bullying, harassment and discrimination

This short course is designed to give Job Reps the basic knowledge and available referral options to effectively support and guide ANMF members with concerns of this nature. We identify relevant legislations to provide a broad legal context when dealing with these matters and outline the ANMF processes and preliminary steps a Job Rep or HSR can take.
