EBA update 16: EBA ballot to open 10 December – VOTE YES

2020 public sector enterprise agreement

The public sector nurses and midwives 2020-24 enterprise agreement ballot will open on 10 December 2021.

The electronic ballot will be conducted by Elections Australia.

All employees covered by the agreement are eligible to vote. If the majority of those who vote, vote YES then an application for approval will be made to the Fair Work Commission. If approved by the FWC, the agreement would become legally enforceable seven days later.

Due to unavoidable delays, the Andrews Government authorised the administrative implementation of the EBA in June 2021. This ensured nurses and midwives could access the allowance increases and improved entitlements and conditions negotiated by the ANMF in 2020.

Ballot timeline

9am, Thursday 2 December 2021 to 11:59pm, Thursday 9 December 2021: the seven-clear day access period for the proposed agreement. Employers will put the enterprise agreement and a key changes summary document out to members for the seven-day access period.

10 December 2021: the electronic ballot will start. ANMF is recommending members VOTE YES. Information explaining the voting process will be provided by your employer.

The ballot will be open from 00:01am on Friday, 10 December 2021 and will close at midnight (24:00 hours) on Thursday, 16 December 2021. Eligible employees will be able to vote at any time during this period.

17 December 2021: the result will be declared.

ANMF will send further voting information closer to the ballot.
