Delegates Conferences 2023: Victoria and Federal

The 2023 ANMF (Vic Branch) delegates conference is almost here. If you are a Job Rep or a Health & Safety Rep and you haven’t blocked out the time in your calendar on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 June, time is running out.

The deadline for conference registrations is 5pm Monday 15 May. Late registrations will not be accepted. Delegates can register via delegates.anmfvic.asn.au.

Thank you to all delegates who have already registered and submitted motions. We have now closed off submissions, and are finalising the final list of motions to be voted on at the conference.

Rep of the Year awards

You can still nominate an outstanding Job Rep for the Hannah Sellars Job Rep of the Year award, and an outstanding Health & Safety Rep for the HSR of the Year award. Each of these awards comes with a $1000 prize and recognition for the exemplary work of the winning Rep.

Nominations must be submitted by 5pm Friday 26 May. The winners will be announced at the conference.

Save the date: ANMF Federal delegates conference

The Federal ANMF delegates conference dates are locked in for Thursday 12 and Friday 13 October 2023. The national conference is held every two years, and in 2023 it will be a face-to-face event in Sydney.

Delegates who attend the Vic Branch conference, and who are considering and available to represent ANMF Victorian Branch at the national conference, will have the opportunity to seek election prior to the Victorian conference.

The rules of the Federation provide for 26 Delegates from the Branch to attend. We shall also be electing three additional Delegates in the event that one of our 26 is unable to attend. Those who are selected to attend may (subject to their Enterprise Agreement) be able to use Trade Union Training Authority (TUTA) leave, and will have their flight and accommodation costs covered by the Branch.

Ballarat Base Hospital Job Rep Allington Gono has been ‘lucky enough’ to attend ANMF Federal Conferences in previous years, and recommends the experience to any Rep considering nominating. ‘It was brilliant,’ he says.

If you are a delegate who has registered for the Branch conference, keep an eye on your inbox or speak to your Organiser if you’re considering seeking election to attend the national conference.
