ANMF (Vic Branch) has successfully advocated for backpay for members working at Bendigo Health and Northpark Private.

Backpay for the Bendigo members was related to inappropriate classification and at Northpark Private for not staffing in accordance with the enterprise agreement requirements.

In other industrial news:

  • New enterprise agreements covering more than 3000 employees have been lodged for approval with the Fair Work Commission.
  • Negotiations for new agreements have commenced at several workplaces including Malvern Private Hospital and Medical and Aged Care Group
  • We negotiated in principle agreements with Ballarat Hospice and B-Braun Avitum Australia which provide public sector wage parity and improvements to employment conditions.

The Branch assisted Glenroy Clinic members who were informed that the clinic was to be closed and sold without consultation. Our support resulted in the clinic providing redundancy benefits to members.

We assisted City of Moonee Valley members to resist a structural change which would have diluted the nursing leadership structure of the Maternal and Child Health Service.  After extensive consultation with members and ANMF, qualified maternal and child health nurses will once again manage the service.

At Epworth Camberwell Mental Health Units, we negotiated an agreement on behalf of members who, for some time, have been unable to take meal breaks. Members will now be able to take their break or be paid for that time.
