Record-breaking Job Rep recruitment

Record-breaking Job Rep recruitment

ANMF (Vic Branch) has experienced its biggest surge in Job Rep growth since 2010 and we are now sitting at our highest ever recorded number of Job Reps with a total of 2325.

Congratulations and thanks to the Job Reps who have recruited someone to become an ANMF member, a Job Rep or a Health and Safety Rep in 2019.

Between January and August 2019, we have gained a record 137 new Job Reps. The new Job Reps have been recruited from all sectors: public, private acute, private aged care, local government, small clinics and stand-alone practices.

The increase is partly due to a strong emphasis in Job Rep training on building the skills, knowledge and confidence to both plan and conduct effective recruitment conversations.

We have also focused on recruitment in the workplace organising plans developed by Job Reps in Keeping it Organised training programs.  In reviewing 2018 recruitment targets in workplace organising plans during this year’s programs, many of the targets have been met. Job Rep training staff are ensuring 2019 plans continue to build on 2018 recruitment activities.

ANMF (Vic Branch) has responded to feedback from Job Reps and developed a brochure and position description that clearly defines the Job Rep role and responsibilities. In addition we have redesigned parts of our Job Rep training programs to elaborate on the Job Rep’s role in disseminating information and communicating with members.

Thank you to those nurses, midwives and carers who have taken on the rewarding role of being an ANMF Job Rep.
