Current nursing graduates are encouraged to contribute to an independent review of nursing preparation taking place until 21 June.

The review, known as ‘Educating the nurse of the future’, is considering how current education and preparation of nurses in Australia is meeting healthcare needs now and into the future. It will:

  • examine whether nurses’ education should be realigned to meet needs
  • examine the factors which affect the choice of nursing as an occupation
  • consider the process for articulation between different levels of nursing (for example from enrolled nursing to registered nursing)
  • examine the role and appropriateness of transition to practice programs.

If you are a current graduate or completed a graduate program within the past five years, you are encouraged to provide your views on the role and appropriateness of transition to practice programs.

Email your submission based on the terms of reference before 21 June.

ANMF will make a written submission, however we hope members attend to share their experiences, concerns and suggestions directly.

Please note: this review is focusing on nursing only.
