Forensicare campaign update 7 – ANMF Member Resolution on Forensicare start date for wages

At the ANMF (Vic Branch) members’ meeting held Friday 19 December 2025, ANMF members heard a report from ANMF officials on the progress of negotiations so far and the offer that was provided on 12 December 2025.

The proposed offer matches the overall wage increase achieved by both the public general nurses agreement and public mental health nurses (28.4% including the increase on 1 July 2024).

Disappointingly, the offer has not matched the pay increase commencement date, the current offer proposes wage increases to commence from the first pay period on or after 1 November 2025 as opposed to 20 May 2025 like the public mental health.

The conditions largely replicate the offer in the public mental health agreement however, ANMF have sought clarification on aspects of the offer including classifications, staffing and definitions with VHIA and Forensicare, with a further meeting scheduled for 7 January 2025 to progress this.

Through a resolution that passed at the ANMF members meeting, members directed ANMF to continue to clarify the remaining aspects of the offer and urge Forensicare and the government to provide an appropriate offer with an improved start date as soon as possible.

If no appropriate offer is received, members instructed ANMF to hold a further members’ meeting in the new year to discuss the making of an application for a Protected Industrial Action ballot.

Update your details

To be eligible to vote in a protected industrial action ballot in the future, ANMF members’ details must be up to date and match with their details on the employer-provided list.

Members need to check their surname, first name, middle name, date of birth, work and private email, mobile and postal address. Members whose workplace and contact details don’t match won’t be eligible to vote, which may limit everyone’s ability to participate in a campaign.
