EBA CAMPAIGN UPDATE #30
The Allan Government has given administrative approval for the payment of the new 2024-28 Victorian public sector nurses and midwives enterprise agreement rates and associated backpay.
ANMF has asked the Victorian Hospitals’ Industrial Association to ensure employers notify nurses and midwives who will be covered by the new agreement about the timing of the payment of the new rates and backpay.
We continue to await the Fair Work Commission’s (FWC) formal approval of the agreement. We understand the delay is frustrating but this process and timeframe is beyond the control of ANMF. The agreement will become enforceable seven days after FWC approval.
Thank you again to every Job Rep and member who participated in this EBA campaign to secure an historic 28.4 per cent pay rise, new and improved allowances and more than 70 improved working conditions and entitlements.
Checking your payslips
ANMF has created a 2024 pay rates table to assist members to check their payslips when they receive their new pay rates and backpay.
All nurses and midwives will receive a 28.4 per cent increase by the end of the four-year agreement. There are two wage increases in 2024 that will be backdated to the following dates:
- 15 June 2024
- First Full Pay Period On Or After (FFPPOOA) 1 July 2024
When you receive your first payslip with the new rates, if you are eligible to receive a back payment of wages, this should be clearly listed on your payslip – for example as ‘backpay’.
If you have questions regarding the amount of back payment received, you must contact your payroll department. If you would like to check whether your backpay has been calculated correctly, you can use the Allowance Fact Sheet and Wage Rate Fact Sheets linked below.
Note: if you are a casual employee, please ensure when checking your back payment calculations that you apply a 25 per cent loading to the wages for your classification provided in the fact sheets.
