The 2016–20 public sector mental health enterprise agreement included a major boost to mental health nurse staffing in Victoria.
The Andrews Government agreed to add 125.8 equivalent full time mental health nurses to the public mental health system, as well as nurse: patient ratios in high dependency units.
As well as the historic increase in mental health nurse numbers, the Andrews Government agreed to wage increases in line with the general public sector EBA, plus a good faith payment of 1.5 per cent of total remuneration and allowances in the first year of the agreement.
