Are you a registered nurse, dual registered nurse and midwife, or a nurse practitioner?
A registration standard for registered nurses prescribing is being considered by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). The endorsement would enable RNs to prescribe within their scope of practice under the supervision of an authorised autonomous prescriber (e.g. medical practitioner or nurse practitioner) (NMBA, 2018).
Researchers at Queensland University of Technology are conducting a national survey about the implementation of this standard in clinical practice.
The outcomes will help inform the implementation of nurse prescribing nationwide, ultimately improving access and experiences of care, as well as patient outcomes.
The survey takes ten minutes to complete and participants can enter to win one of six iPads.
