Resources to reduce waste in health services

Are you a member of a green team at your workplace, or want to set up some green initiatives?

ANMF continues to advocate with government agencies on environmental sustainability in healthcare as part of our Global Green and Healthy Hospitals membership.

As a result of our lobbying and advocacy, resources have been developed for green-minded nurses and midwives wanting to improve sustainability in their hospital.

DHHS Clinical waste supplement

Need to educate your colleagues on whether items are clinical waste, landfill waste or recyclable?

Earlier this year the DHHS Clinical waste supplement was released, where you can download a waste decision-making poster, revised EPA guidelines for those in healthcare clinical practice, and a teaching power point.

New DHHS waste segregation posters

Deciding what is recyclable or waste in Victoria’s public hospitals and health services has just got easier. DHHS has produced new recycling posters available for download which are visual and healthcare specific.

VicTAG Pharmaceutical Waste disposal guidelines

To combat pharmaceutical waste being disposed of incorrectly, the Victorian Therapeutics Advisory Group Quality Use of Medicines working group has developed a framework and tools in accordance with EPA and other regulatory guidelines.

To access the PowerPoint presentation, poster and framework, ask your pharmacy department.
