Are you a new Job Rep?

If you’ve recently become an ANMF Job Rep, you’re on the way to a happier and safer workplace.

To assist new Job Reps we have developed a 60-minute online module to give you a basic understanding of how the ANMF (Vic Branch) works on behalf of members and an overview of the industrial relations system and the role of unions in our community.

We also offer a one day introductory Job Rep Foundations course to learn more about how to carry out your new role. This one-day face to face training focuses on practical skills and strategies for being an effective Job Rep in your workplace.

The combination of the module and face to face training will give you the skills, information and confidence to start being an ANMF Job Rep at your workplace. We strongly recommend undertaking the module before coming to your training.

Refresher for existing Job Reps

If you’re an experienced Job Rep but haven’t attended any training for three years or more, we also encourage you to undertake this training to refresh your knowledge and skills.

Melbourne face-to-face training programs will take place at the ANMF education facilities at 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. Regional programs will be held at local venues. The training delivery method may be subject to change, depending on COVID-19 guidelines issued by the DHHS. The ANMF will advise accordingly.

An online option is also scheduled.

Experienced Job Rep? Build your skills

ANMF Job Reps who have undertaken the foundations training course can build their skills and strategies to resolve collective workplace issues with our two-day ‘Keeping it organised’ program.

Being a Job Rep is all about working together with other reps and members, so we recommend at least two Job Reps attend from a workplace.

The program covers the following topics:

  • membership and mapping the workplace
  • problem solving
  • communications
  • recruitment
  • enterprise bargaining process
  • workplace planning.
