Protected industrial action ballot now open: ANMF recommends you vote YES

RATIOS. RETAIN. RECRUIT. ST VINCENT’S PRIVATE HOSPITALS EBA 2024.

CAMPAIGN UPDATE #6

ANMF is recommending members employed at St Vincent’s Private Hospitals send a strong message to their employer that they want improved staffing and safe patient workloads – by voting YES in your protected industrial action ballot.

Look for the link to the ballot in an email or SMS from the Fair Work Commission approved independent ballot agent VERO Voting.  Click on the link, highlight the Yes button and submit your vote.

Six reasons to vote YES

  1. VOTE YES – to tell St Vincent’s Private Hospitals you want an improved EBA offer that includes transparent staffing levels and safer patient workloads noting that Sydney St Vincent’s Private Hospitals’ already have nurse/midwife patient ratios.
  2. VOTE YES – to tell your employer that you want an offer that includes improved allowances in line with public sector nurses and midwives.
  3. VOTE YES – to tell your employer that you want the more than 40 improved entitlements and conditions included in the 2020 and 2024 public sector enterprise agreements.
  4. VOTE YES – because private acute sector nurses and midwives are not worth less than public sector nurses and midwives.
  5. VOTE YES – because St Vincent’s Private Hospitals will not be able to offer competitive wages, staffing levels, entitlements and conditions to retain and recruit experienced and early career nurses and midwives
  6. VOTE YES – because it is your legal right to campaign for an improved EBA offer.

WHEN DOES VOTING CLOSE?

Voting opened 9am Wednesday 6 November and will close 5pm Monday 11 November.

I’M WORRIED ABOUT MY EMPLOYMENT AT MY SMALLER ST VINCENT’S PRIVATE HOSPITALS FACILITY?

Nothing about the St Vincent’s Private Hospitals’ business model or business decisions depends on this ballot. Just as St Vincent’s previous decisions about services were not connected to enterprise bargaining. It is your legal right as an ANMF member to participate in a protected industrial action ballot and campaign for an improved EBA offer.

I HAVEN’T RECEIVED A BALLOT LINK?
