The ANMF’s Protected Industrial Action ballot for members at Healthscope opens at 9am tomorrow, Wednesday 15 October.
Is this a vote for Healthscope’s salary packaging proposal?
No. This is a vote for ANMF members to be able to take protected industrial action as part of EBA negotiations, if and when that action is required.
How does it work?
You will receive an SMS from a company named ‘Vero’ requesting that you follow a link and vote.
How should I vote?
The ANMF encourages members to vote EARLY and vote YES in this ballot for Protected Industrial Action.
How will this help?
A strong YES vote will allow the EBA negotiation team to keep pushing for improved wages that are competitive with others in the market. It will send a clear message to Healthscope that a fair and reasonable EBA is your priority.
This ANMF member ballot will be conducted by the Fair Work Commission-approved independent ballot agent, VERO Voting.
ANMF Industrial Relations Organisers will be at Healthscope facilities this week to answer members’ questions and to discuss the EBA negotiations. Please look out for member notices which will include the date and time of the visit at your workplace.
Fair Work Commission Conference
On Monday 13 October, the Fair Work Commission held a conference between the ANMF (Vic Branch), other bargaining representatives and Healthscope, to assist the parties in resolving EBA negotiations.
Despite several hours spent in further negotiations, the parties could not achieve a resolution in this conference.
Having said this, Healthscope management has undertaken to respond to various matters by close of business Monday 20 October. This includes the following key items:
- Wage rates that are market-competitive;
- The nominal expiry date of the EBA; and
- The ANMF’s proposal to separate Healthscope’s salary packaging plan from the EBA to enable members to make an independent decision on each matter.
We will update members on any response from Healthscope.
