Work on new enterprise agreements for members working for private acute employers continues in 2021.
ANMF (Vic Branch) will be seeking salary and allowance increases to achieve public sector parity by 2023, and a 3 per cent salary increase per annum thereafter as well as other improvements achieved within the 2020–24 public sector general enterprise agreement.

HealtheCare
Negotiations with Healthecare regarding an agreement covering private hospital nurses and midwives will commence in March 2021, with a commitment for the first wage increase under the new agreement to be paid in July 2021.
Jessie McPherson Private Hospital
Jessie McPherson Private Hospital proposed to roll over the current agreement until 31 March 2021 with a pay increase of 3 per cent backdated to the first pay period on or after 1 April 2020. At a meeting in January, members agreed to the rolled over agreement and pay rise offer. The Fair Work Commission approved the rolled over agreement on 9 March.
After the expiry of the rolled over agreement on 31 March, bargaining will resume on all matters including ratios.
St Vincent’s Private Hospital
St Vincent’s Private Hospital provided a response to ANMF’s claims on 2 February, rejecting most claims. The employer has advised it will notify ANMF of its salary offer on 9 March 2021.
St John of God
ANMF and St John of God have presented a comprehensive log of claims which are subject to ongoing negotiations.
Members met on 17 February to consider St John of God’s offer of settlement.
Epworth Hospital
Epworth has offered a 9 per cent pay increase over four years, including matching the public sector agreement for five classifications.
Epworth has agreed to a range of improvements including phasing in long service leave access at seven years, an increase to family violence leave, and improved professional development/study/examination clauses.
ANMF members have voted to agree to the enterprise agreement going out to vote following settlement of outstanding matters and drafting. ANMF expects a draft agreement will go to vote within a few weeks.
Ramsay Health Care
Negotiations commenced on 7 October 2020.
Ramsay is responding to claims following resumption of negotiations on 3 February after a hiatus over the 2020–21 summer.
Cabrini Health
ANMF has initiated the bargaining process with Cabrini and has provided a log of claims.
The first negotiation meeting occurred on Friday 19 February.
