The Nursing and Midwifery Health Program Victoria (NMHPV) has released a podcast series, Wellness Reimagined: how to thrive in stressful times.

Hosted by NMHPV midwife and senior clinician Celeste Pinney with guest Mark Bunn – a bestselling author on health, happiness and wellness – each of the six episodes focuses on a different health and wellbeing topic.

  • Episode 1 looks at harnessing the power of habit, exploring practical strategies for nurses and midwives to enhance their wellbeing through simple, actionable steps that can lead to better health and greater resilience.
  • Episode 2 focuses on the art of rest, relaxation and recovery, with Mark and Celeste looking at actionable ways that nurses and midwives can integrate more rest and downtime into their schedules, to enhance wellbeing.
  • Episode 3 builds on the topic in episode 2 with a singular focus on the importance of sleep and strategies for nurses and midwives to improve its quality. Celeste and Mark discuss practical approaches to incorporating better sleep into busy schedules.
  • Episode 4 is about movement and how much it matters. The episode explores the role of movement in our lives and simple and effective ways to include more movement in your routine.
  • Episode 5 tackles stress management strategies for nurses and midwives, emphasising the importance of small, consistent practices to help reduce stress, overwhelm and burnout.
  • Episode 6 closes the series out with a deep dive into the various breathing techniques that are proven to help manage anxiety or calm the mind.
