Hesse Rural Health, a public sector employer in the Golden Plains Shire, has announced plans to formally take over 31 aged care beds from the Winchelsea Hostel & Nursing Home Society (Chelsea Lodge). The transfer is expected to occur over the coming months.
ANMF welcomes the proposed addition of publicly funded residential aged care beds.
While the Chelsea Lodge beds in question have been officially provided by Winchelsea to date, they have been co-located at Hesse for some time and the staff have been employed by Hesse under the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) Single Interest Employers Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028. The proposal will formalise, and streamline, the co-location arrangement.
As all Chelsea Lodge staff are already employed by Hesse under the public sector EBA, ANMF does not anticipate that there will be any impact on staff or residents as a result of this change.
