More grants for residential aged care homes

ANMF advises members of a second round of Residential Aged Care Equipment Grants. This program is part of the Australian Government’s Strengthening Medicare – Supporting Older Australians Initiative.

All residential aged care homes in Victoria can apply for grants of up to $10,000 per home to purchase minor medical equipment, provided they did not receive a grant in Round 1. In Round 1, 430 homes were successful in applying for a grant.

The grants complement the free Comprehensive Health Assessment of the Older Person (CHAOP) training that is being delivered by the Australian Centre for Evidence Based Aged Care (ACEBAC) at La Trobe University. To date, over 500 nurses have already completed training workshops in metropolitan and regional locations.

These initiatives aim to support residential aged care nurses to:

  • enable early detection of health issues through comprehensive assessments
  • support timely intervention and improved resident outcomes.

Key dates
