ANMF (Vic Branch) is pleased to report that members have achieved an agreement that provides pay parity with the public sector – resulting in an 28.4 per cent wage increase over the life of the agreement. For a private palliative care provider, this is a significant outcome.
In addition to parity on wages and all allowances, the agreement also offers:
- Backpayment of salary and allowance increases for all current employees from 2 September 2024 to be processed within eight weeks of approval of the enterprise agreement.
- Annual leave loading applicable to five weeks of accrued annual leave (previously leave loading was capped at four weeks of annual leave)
- Removal of the qualifying period of employment for access to parental leave including paid parental leave.
- A commitment to work with ANMF and its members on drafting a position description for grade 3B employees.
- Increasing compassionate leave to four days (previously two days).
- Introduction of paid gender transition/affirmation leave.
- Expanding the definition of immediate family for the purposes of personal leave to beyond the nuclear family.
Members voted up the agreement in mid-July, and it will now go to the Fair Work Commission for approval. The agreement will become operational seven days after Commission approval.
