Mercy Mental Health laundry allowance win

ANMF (Vic Branch) members working across Mercy Mental Health services are now being paid laundry allowances as per their rights under clause 86.3 of the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement 2024–2028.

The Branch has confirmed with Mercy Health that all laundry allowances have now, and will continue to be, paid as per the clause, commencing from 20 July 2026.

ANMF raised the underpayment with Mercy in April 2026, after mental health nurse members and Job Representatives diligently raised the issues in order to progress a collective dispute.

While the paid laundry allowances will be corrected going forward, there may still be outstanding backpay issues. The Branch is working with Mercy Health locally to ensure a rectification process occurs. As of early August, Mercy has begun an auditing process to calculate back payment for affected employees.
