ANMF (Vic Branch) Assistant Secretary Madeleine Harradence speaking to Job Reps in Geelong, February 2025.
In February and March 2025 our popular Job Rep seminars were back.
These seminars are small, in-person events that allow Job Reps to hear from, and ask questions of, elected officials and key Branch staff directly. Topics covered included the Branch’s work for the coming year, the progress of various EBA negotiations, and local updates about each area.
Depending on the location, delegates heard from Branch Secretary Lisa Fitzpatrick, Assistant Secretary Madeleine Harradence or (now retired) Assistant Secretary Paul Gilbert. In fact, Paul’s last official ANMF activity was attending the Traralgon seminar. Paul started his career with ANMF many years ago as the Organiser for Gippsland so it was an especially fitting farewell for him from the delegates in the region.
Incoming Assistant Secretary Sam Casey also conducted several seminars. Many seminars also had the opportunity to hear from Maternity Services Officer Nicole Allan as well.
In total, the Branch visited nine regional sites – including, for the first time, Horsham (which will now be a regular on future itineraries) – and held three metro seminars. More than 200 Job Reps turned out across the state, with a solid mix of representation from the public sector, private acute services and local government.
Feedback from those in attendance was extremely positive, with the sessions providing a great opportunity for delegates to network afterwards – with colleagues as well as with ANMF staff. These more informal discussions also allowed for some great feedback for the Branch.
Job Rep seminars will be held again in 2026.
