Forensicare EBA bargaining meetings update

Negotiations for the replacement Forensicare agreement are continuing with weekly meetings being held with the Victorian Hospitals’ Industrial Association (VHIA), Forensicare and unions.

As advised in EBA update #2, parties are now discussing Forensicare specific claims, whilst also noting the link to the negotiations for the public sector mental health agreement.

ANMF remains committed to working expediently with the goal of reaching an agreement that is supported by our membership as soon as practicable.

Forensicare has acknowledged the recent general public sector mental health agreement offer endorsed by ANMF members, noting that the Forensicare agreement will generally follow agreement for the public sector mental health EBA. However, it is worth clarifying that the public sector mental health EBA does not apply to Forensicare members.

Information about the public sector mental health EBA offer can be found via anmfvic.asn.au/mhupdates.

Forensicare nor VHIA are yet to provide an offer to Forensicare members, however ANMF expects to receive an offer once all claims have been discussed at the bargaining table.

Forensicare proposal regarding the Early Intervention Support Team (EIST) and Clinical Support Team (CST) at Thomas Embling Hospital

Thank you to the members that gave valuable feedback on the ANMF EIST and CST survey.

ANMF has provided this feedback to Forensicare and bargaining parties and sought further information on the proposal, including details on how the proposed integrated team would work and how nurses’ roles within the team would be protected.

Forensicare is currently planning workshops with Thomas Embling staff to develop this proposal and will provide further information to the unions following these workshops.

We will provide this further information to members once it is available.

Please make sure that you are receiving ANMF updates and information. Members can manage their digital ANMF communications on the Member Portal via anmfvic.asn.au/resubscribe.

HACSU members are taking protected industrial action. What should I do?

Health and Community Services Union (HACSU) members began protected industrial action on 2 April.

ANMF advises members they should continue to perform your normal contractual duties and responsibilities.

ANMF will discuss bargaining status and next steps at the Monday 14 April members meeting.

Do you have at least two Job Reps?

It’s a great time to become an ANMF Job Rep, get to know your current entitlements better and get involved in our EBA campaign. Job Reps are the life force of our union and can attend the annual ANMF delegates conference as well as put forward motions for consideration on the ANMF log of claims. To nominate as an ANMF Job Rep yourself (ideally there would be at least two Job Reps per ward/area) please read the information and download a Job Rep nomination form via anmfvic.asn.au/Jobrep.

To see who your ANMF Job Rep is, login to the Member Portal via members.anmfvic.asn.au and then click the ‘My Delegates’ tab under ‘My Membership’.

Update your details

Should we need to take further steps during negotiations, it is critically important that you make sure ANMF has your correct details. If there have been any changes, please update your contact details on the member portal via members.anmfvic.asn.au.

Please check and update if required your:

  • workplace and second or additional workplace if you have one
  • family name, given name, middle name
  • date of birth
  • work and private email address
  • mobile and postal address

If you and your colleagues determine it necessary to vote to take protected industrial action as part of your enterprise bargaining campaign, your ANMF member details will need to match the details held by your employer in order for you to get a vote.

If you work at Forensicare and are not receiving newsflashes and updates, you may have unsubscribed from our publication communications at some stage. You can manage your ANMF digital communications on the member portal via anmfvic.asn.au/resubscribe.

Are all nurses on your ward or unit ANMF members?

Now is the time to get engaged and get involved! We need strong collective action and commitment from members at the workplace and the more members there are, the stronger your voices will be. All nurses are encouraged to join ANMF, non-members can join online at anmfvic.asn.au/join.
