Epworth Medical Imaging (Radiology Victoria) new deal reached

Radiolgy Victoria (formerly Epworth Medical Imaging) members with ANMF (Vic Branch) Assistant Secretary Nicole Allan in 2025

After almost two years of bargaining, protected industrial action and Fair Work Commission matters, ANMF (Vic Branch) members at Radiology Victoria – formerly known as Epworth Medical Imaging – have finally been offered a deal they could accept.

Radiology Victoria nurses had previously rejected offers put forward by their employer four times. On members’ behalf, ANMF then took their employer to the Fair Work Commission to argue that bargaining had become intractable (if parties have been bargaining for at least nine months without making progress, they can apply to the Commission to resolve the negotiations).

With Radiology Victoria making a new – but once again rejected – offer not long before the Commission hearing, the Commission decided bargaining was not intractable and sent both parties back to the negotiating table. This outcome of these new talks was a proposed agreement that 80 per cent of Radiology Victoria’s nurses voted for.

Given how long it has been since their last pay increase in June 2024, and members’ understandable fatigue with the bargaining process, the Branch welcomes the stability that this new three-year agreement will now provide for Radiology Victoria’s nurses – as well as some much-needed pay increases up front.

We also commend members for fighting for a better deal, which they achieved, and we particularly want to acknowledge the tireless work of Job Representatives in both Richmond and Geelong.

Under the new agreement, nurses were guaranteed a 4.5 per cent wage increase in the first full pay period after a positive vote, along with a pro-rated $1000 sign on bonus and a $295 tax-free voucher.

A further 4.5 per cent wage increase was payable under the new agreement from 1 July 2026 – meaning nurses receive a 9 per cent (2 x 4.5% pay increases) increase in the first few weeks of this financial year.

Radiology Victoria has now lodged the new agreement in the Fair Work Commission. All other new and improved entitlements – which include six weeks of annual leave for part-time shift workers, a new Radiology Nurse Specialist classification and two extra weeks of paid parental leave – will begin to apply seven days after approval by the Fair Work Commission.
