Aged care is in crisis.
One year ago, on 1 March 2021, the aged care royal commission told us our grandparents are receiving substandard residential aged care because of poor staffing levels.
Since then, staffing levels are worse and Prime Minister Scott Morrison has done nothing to fix aged care.
And he won’t mandate improved staffing levels until late 2023.
Residents can’t wait.
Aged care nurses and personal care workers are doing their best, but private aged care providers legally don’t have to roster enough nurses and personal care workers to provide safe care.
It’s a political issue. We need political leadership and a political solution.
We shouldn’t need to rally, to remind the Morrison Government to fix aged care, but we do.
Lunch provided.
