Her Place Women’s Museum Australia will be paying tribute to the nurses and midwives of Australia in an exhibition to acknowledge the 2020 International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife.

Drawing on more than 200 years of history, and set against a backdrop of social and political change, the exhibition highlights nursing and midwifery in civilian and military life, in peace-keeping spheres, in practice, business, politics, activism and advocacy.

This celebration reminds us why nurses and midwives are consistently awarded most trusted status in public surveys of the professions.

Given the Covid-19 conditions, the exhibition will launch in early 2021.

The exhibition is hosted in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services and Safer Care Victoria, supported by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Victorian Branch).

This exhibition is made possible through the generosity of the Victorian Government.
