In a significant win for palliative care members at Melbourne City Mission, ANMF has recovered more than $112,000 in underpaid ‘public holidays not worked’ entitlements.

Having raised queries with their employer as far back as December 2024, with no resolution, ANMF Job Reps contacted the Branch in early October seeking assistance. Their concerns related to long-standing underpayments of their entitlement, as per clause 44.5 of the Melbourne City Mission Palliative Care Nurses Agreement 2024.

ANMF wrote to Melbourne City Mission the same day, raising this issue on behalf of members and requested any underpayment be identified and corrected within 14 days.

In response, Melbourne City Mission engaged an external specialist organisation to conduct an audit, which identified 22 nurses who had been underpaid a total of $112,459.99 in wages and superannuation (inclusive of interest).

The employer began the process of backpaying members on 15 October.
