Interested in a career move into an alcohol and other drugs (AOD) specialty?
Expand your horizons with a free information seminar on alcohol and other drugs nursing, Wednesday 12 October 2018, at the ANMF (Vic Branch) Carson Conference Centre. Attend either the 8am-midday or 1-5pm.
The seminar will give an overview of what you could expect as a nurse specialising in AOD and career options available in this sector.
Choose between the morning or afternoon session and you’ll hear from two highly experienced AOD nurses talking about ‘A day in the life of an AOD nurse’, plus a panel of nurses working as AOD specialists in mental health, emergency and other clinical areas.
Self Help Addiction Resource Centre CEO Heather Pickard will reflect on her experiences in a 24-year career as a registered nurse working in AOD, including residential and outpatient withdrawal.
Rose McCrohan, NUM and nurse practitioner at Uniting’s nurserun ReGen unit, will share insights from more than 25 years in AOD nursing, including setting up Victoria’s first mother and baby withdrawal service.
The seminars are fully funded by the Andrews Government.
