ANMF welcomes new Victorian Health Minister Ingrid Stitt, who has been appointed Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services
As Minister for Mental Health since 2023, Minister Stitt has had a strong relationship with ANMF, working together on delivering historic wage increases in the 2024 mental health public sector agreement, implementation of the recommendations of the Mental Health Royal Commission, and, in 2022 as Minister for Workplace Safety, ANMF’s 10-Point Plan to End Violence and Aggression: A Guide for Health Services.
On behalf of members, ANMF will continue our strong working relationship to ensure Victorian nurses, midwives and carers have safe and decent working lives. This includes key priorities such as addressing the escalating levels of occupation violence and aggression faced by nurses, midwives and carers, funding for additional nurse and midwife graduate positions to ensure a sustainable workforce, and protecting and continuing to expand nurse/midwife to patient ratios that would be put at risk under a Liberal and One Nation Government.
ANMF would also like to take this opportunity to wish former Minister for Health Harriet Shing well and thank her for her contribution to Victoria’s healthcare system
