ANMF (Vic Branch) course-fee grants are changing

Since 2018 the Branch has offered financial help, via course-fee grants, to members completing  post-registration or postgraduate nursing or midwifery education. In that time, we’ve given roughly $4.5 million to more than 1500 members undertaking study to advance their careers.

With an increase in government scholarships for postgraduate nurses and midwives completing studies in speciality areas, the Branch is updating the way our course-fee grants are allocated – specifically the timing in which applications must be submitted.

What are the changes?

From 2024, applications will open in July of each year. Previously, applications opened each January.

If you’re currently enrolled for semester 2 2023, don’t worry: you will still be eligible to apply in the July 2024 application round, which for next year only will be retrospective to ensure current students do not miss out.

Grants will be capped at a maximum of $3000 – the average amount given to all successful applicants so far.

You will be eligible to apply if you have been an ANMF (Vic Branch) member for at least two years – including as a student (including Diploma) or RUSON/M member – and you continue to be a member throughout your course.
