ANMF (Vic Branch) will host our first Yarning Circle consultation with First Nations members facilitated by Aunty Kerry Arabena at the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO), Collingwood on Friday 20 February 2026, 2pm to 5pm.
This event is a welcomed initiative of ANMF First Nations members and marks the beginning of an ongoing, member-led consultation process. ANMF (Vic Branch) is seeking to listen to nurses, midwives, students, and personal care worker members about your experiences, priorities, and aspirations for our union.
The consultation process aims to ensure First Nations voices meaningfully inform how the ANMF engages with, represents, and advocates for our First Nations members and colleagues.
The Yarning Circle will provide a space for open dialogue, where members can share their perspectives, identify priorities, and contribute to shaping future Victorian Branch approaches, structures, and supports affecting First Nations members.
Attendance in person is limited due to venue capacity, however, an online option is also available. There will be more opportunities to get involved with further Yarning Circles planned for 2026.
Members interested in attending are encouraged to request leave as soon as possible, as some employers require up to six weeks notice. Members may be eligible for professional development leave—please check your EBA via the member portal.
