ANMF has been admitted to the CitySwitch Hall of Fame for its efforts on sustainability action at last month’s annual CitySwitch awards.

CitySwitch is a national service supported by the City of Melbourne and other local governments to assist businesses with reducing their carbon footprint. ANMF (Vic Branch) has been a member since 2013 as part of its commitment to tackling climate change.

In 2018, CitySwitch introduced a new award category, the CitySwitch Champions Hall of Fame. ANMF (Vic Branch), and specifically Assistant Secretary Pip Carew, were recognised amongst those who “have gone above and beyond the call of duty”.

‘It’s thrilling that our commitment to environmental sustainability has been recognised’, said Ms Carew.

‘Ultimately we hope that our efforts will contribute to a healthier planet.’

Last year the branch won the Victorian CitySwitch State Signatory of the Year award, and was highly commended in the National Signatory award for its leadership in improving environmental sustainability, both in our members’ building and the nursing and midwifery profession.

Since CitySwitch began in 2008, the program has saved 711,028 tonnes of CO2 gas.
