The ANMF (Vic Branch) Council has awarded just under $1 million to eligible members in the 2025 round of course fee grants.
The Branch has been supporting members to complete post-registration or postgraduate nursing or midwifery education since 2018. In that time, we have provided financial assistance to thousands of members undertaking study to advance their career and to improve direct clinical care.
In the 2025 round, grants were awarded to 677 members – the highest number ever – and across all applicants the total amount awarded was $992,649.50.
Recipients are undertaking postgraduate education in clinical areas of interest and greatest need, with just under half studying emergency/critical care/intensive care nursing, and another 12 per cent mental health nursing.
Other key areas of study among recipients include:
- aged care
- cancer nursing
- cardiac care
- maternal and child health
- midwifery
- neonatal ICU
- palliative care
- perioperative nursing
- renal nursing.
Additional specialty areas in which applicants were successful include anaesthetics, alcohol and other drugs, diabetes care, First Nations health, neurology, paediatrics, disaster nursing and trauma care, women’s health, and wound care.
Almost a third of grant recipients were regional members.
The average amount each successful applicant received towards their course fees was close to $1500. While this was lower than in previous years, many more members – almost 40 per cent more – received funding.
Since ANMF’s course fee grants were introduced in 2018, the Branch has awarded almost $7 million to members.
The next round of course-fee grants will open in 2026.
You will be eligible to apply if you have been an ANMF (Vic Branch) member for at least two years (student (including diploma) or RUSON/M membership can be part of this two-year period) and you continue to be a member throughout your course.
