First time in seven years membership fees to increase

For the first time since 2019, ANMF (Vic Branch) membership fees will increase for the 2026/27 financial year.

Branch Council has determined that a three per cent increase will apply from 1 July 2026. This means an increase for members of between $0.31 and $1.61 each month.

Non-working student and associate memberships will not change.

These increases are small but necessary to ensure ANMF can continue to provide the protection, benefits, services, campaigns and resources that more than 111,000 members expect, and to continue working for you.

Work such as fighting for wage increases for members – from the aged care work value case in the Fair Work Commission that resulted in once-in-a-generation 15 to 28 per cent wage increases, to the historic 28.4 per cent (compounded) increase for public sector members, with work continuing to secure pay parity from private acute employers.

Upcoming priorities

During the last few years, private acute sector members have built solid campaigning skills to support negotiations for improved wages, staffing levels and conditions. In September, ANMF will start working with private acute Job Reps to prepare for next round of EBA campaigns. This includes Aurora Healthcare, Cabrini Health, Epworth Healthcare, Delmont Private Hospital, Healthscope, Healthecare, Maryvale Private Hospital, Mildura Private, Ramsay, St Vincent’s Private Hospitals, St John of God and The Bays.

ANMF is also in the early stages of EBA negotiations to improve wages and conditions for Opal HealthCare, TLC, Mecwacare and Calvary private aged care members.

Members in smaller private workplaces, such as GP clinics and small private day procedure and endoscopy centres, and employed under a Modern Award rather than an EBA will benefit from our continued contribution to the second national ANMF work value case. This important case is seeking an increase of up to 35 per cent for nurses, midwives and personal care workers employed under the Nurses Award 2020. The case was first filed in the Fair Work Commission in 2024; evidence and submissions were filed earlier this year, and hearings began in Melbourne in June.

The Branch is also preparing new campaigns and initiatives to tackle increasing violence, aggression and racism against nurses, midwives and carers to make workplaces safer. Another priority is to address the lack of roster transparency for daily average care minutes in private aged care to ensure safe workloads and staffing.

More priority work will be identified in response to our recent membership engagement survey.

Fee changes

ANMF (Vic Branch) memberships continue to be priced accordingly for a wide range of working arrangements and roles – including full-time and part-time RNs, ENs, midwives, PCWs, RUSONs and RUSOMs, students and those on primary carer leave. Membership fees are tax deductible as a work-related expense‡.

The table below outlines members’ monthly increase effective 1 July 2026. A full schedule of the 2026-27 membership fees is available on the ANMF website.
