Congratulations to the 53 nursing and midwifery students who received a 2025 Aware Super/ANMF (Vic Branch) student award. Recipients are nominated by their tertiary institution and are selected based on their excellent academic results as well as demonstrated diligence and leadership.
The awards were announced at the ANMF (Vic Branch) annual general meeting on Thursday 11 December by Branch Secretary Maddy Harradence and Melissa Bodycoat, Aware Super Strategic Partnerships Manager and award sponsor.
Grant recipients
The Elizabeth Hulme Higher Education Research Grant of $5,000 was awarded to Amy Gow for her research on Experiences of Early Career Registered Nurses in Leadership Positions within In Patient Wards which aimed to identify the key challenges and supports influencing these roles and to develop practical recommendations to strengthen orientation, education, and professional support for early career nurses stepping into leadership positions.
The Vi Elliott Occupational Health Nurses Trust grant for nurses to attend a conference/seminar/workshop, or to undertake a course or a research project in the field of health and safety was awarded to Pheona van Huizen to undertake a Multimedia Interactive Learning Design unit at Monash University.
